The Waiting Game

Sam has been very attentive and cuddly lately, offering to help clean up and put away laundry, asking me if my belly hurts. We were sitting on the floor today having a picnic during a strange December thunderstorm and he was crawling all over me. I asked him if he was nervous about the baby.

"Yes," he said. "I'm afraid Jake will find a new friend and won't care about me anymore."

On a related note, congratulations to Nanny Josie and the Taylor family. Their baby daughter was born today. Happy Birthday Amelia.

When Big Words Happen To Small People

Bryon picked the boys up from school last night, and when I got home Sam was standing on the side porch, dancing in place.

"Mom, can I have confection for dinner?"

I don't know if he'd asked Bryon first and he'd said no, or if Bryon did the 'go ask your mother' thing, but based on the eloquence of the question, I had to say yes.
